Kirkus Review for “Ciao, Amore, Ciao”
Three months to go before launch and it’s time to start getting those reviews for the novel. The cover and guts of the book are in final phases now, and the book art is a delight. In the meantime, Kirkus has given its review for Ciao, Amore, Ciao and it’s a good un! Here’s a quick highlights look. The full review has yet to be published since we don’t yet have the final key art for the novel.
Italy’s buried wartime secrets lead to shocking violence in this labyrinthine historical mystery.
Martini’s storytelling is vivid and gripping, and his writing reads like lean, muscular poetry. The result is a terrific read with real psychological depth beneath the hard-bitten prose.
A gripping saga that roots excruciating betrayals in a nation’s tragic history.
I’ll take that, thanks!
Reviews are difficult things. But then, writing is a difficult thing because it’s more than just your words out there being reviewed by strangers. It’s your soul. And your heart. And everything else. So yeah … reviews are difficult. But not as difficult as getting those rejection letters from publishers who never even bothered to read a sentence because you weren’t part of the club. But that lovely resentment that fuels most writers who aren’t products of nepotism is for another day!
Ciao, Amore, Ciao will be available everywhere March 26, 2025. You can check out the website here.
